Polar bears amid climate crisis: threatened with extinction

There is hardly any other species where the effects of the climate crisis are as tragically visible as in the polar bear. According to estimates, there are only around 25,000 of them left in the wild. Because the Arctic ice is melting faster due to temperature changes, polar bears have less time in winter to hunt seals. As a result, they lose weight and are weakened, which in turn means even less chance of success in the hunt. A vicious circle.

In the case of the polar bear, the effects of climate change are already immediately visible. They are a sign of what will happen if we as humanity do not finally unite in the fight against the climate crisis.
