Alliance 90/The Greens Saxony-Anhalt elected a new state executive committee at their 52nd state party conference in Magdeburg. The party conference was held under the motto: “Protect the environment. Secure the future!” – and marked the start of preparations for the 2026 state elections in terms of content and organization.
Susan Sziborra-Seidlitz (Harz) and Dennis Helmich (Halle) were elected as the new state chairpersons. The two will lead the state association as equal co-chairs in future. Sziborra-Seidlitz received 88% of the votes. There were no opposing candidates. Helmich prevailed with 67% against his challenger Tobias Kremkau (Altmark), who received just under 30% of the vote.
The new treasurer is Peter Dittmann from the Salzland district.
Conny Lüddemann, a member of the state parliament from Dessau-Roßlau, was appointed to the board as a parliamentary representative.
The committee is completed by the assessors: Sandra Lüder (Wittenberg), Marie-Luise König (Anhalt-Bitterfeld), Mamad Mohamad (Halle) and Tobias Kremkau (Altmark).
“We are facing major tasks – from the fight against the climate crisis to the defense of democracy and social justice. With this team, we are well positioned to tackle these challenges with determination,” said the newly elected state chairpersons.
Madeleine Linke’s term of office as Co-Chairwoman also ends with the election of the new State Executive Board. After almost four years at the helm of the state party, she has decided not to stand for re-election. However, Linke will remain with the party as parliamentary group leader in Magdeburg city council and spokesperson for two state working groups.
The party conference in Magdeburg also set clear priorities with its main motion: Without consistent environmental protection and nature conservation, neither freedom nor security in Saxony-Anhalt can be guaranteed in the long term.
