CDU State Parliament Member Alexander Räuscher has once again reached an appalling new low with his latest comment on X. In a statement that defies belief, he suggested using “bullets” as a “solution” to the headache caused by our former state chair, Christian Franke-Langmach of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen. This repugnant attempt to trivialize violence and use it as a political tool is not only disrespectful but a real threat to the political climate in Saxony-Anhalt. We fully support Christian Franke-Langmach’s criminal complaint.

“Alexander Räuscher has shown himself to be a totally untenable figure in our state politics,” emphasizes Dennis Helmich, co-chair of the Greens in Saxony-Anhalt. “As early as June, he absurdly equated Bündnis 90/Die Grünen with the AfD in an interview and even called for the party to be monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. This contemptuous rhetoric towards a democratic competitor reveals his lack of both the respect and responsibility we expect from public officials.”

Madeleine Linke, co-chair of the Greens, agrees: “This escalation must not go without consequences. Anyone who implies violence and publicly slanders political opponents in such a way is in no position of responsibility – especially as a gun owner. We therefore call on the weapons authority in the Harz district to immediately revoke Alexander Räuscher’s gun license according to gun law.”

Given Räuscher’s continued incitement, Helmich and Linke also appeal to the CDU state parliamentary group in Saxony-Anhalt: “The CDU must not tolerate these transgressions any longer. It’s time to create a clear distance and take appropriate disciplinary action against Alexander Räuscher. Hate and hostility have no place in the democratic politics of our state.”
