Deutschlandticket: price must not increase 7. November 20237. November 2023 Madeleine Linke, State Chairwoman of Alliance 90/The Greens Saxony-Anhalt, comments on the resolutions of the Minister Presidents’ Conference on the Deutschlandticket: “The resolutions provide a little more clarity on how to proceed with the financing of the Deutschlandticket. But that is not enough. As Greens in Saxony-Anhalt, we want the price of 49 euros to remain in place beyond 2024. After all, the Deutschlandticket is also popular because it makes mobility more affordable for many people.” Linke continued: “49 euros is already the upper limit, especially here in the East. If the ticket price rises, many season ticket holders will have to cancel their Deutschlandtickets. This must be prevented at all costs! Price stability creates trust and ensures that even more people will consider a season ticket. In order for more employers to offer the Deutschlandticket as a job ticket, they also need price reliability. We Greens want to make the Deutschlandticket even more attractive. We are therefore campaigning for Saxony-Anhalt to also introduce a social ticket at a significantly lower price. Students need a nationally affordable option. And: the Deutschlandticket must become more family-friendly so that in future children and young people can at best travel for free if their parents already have a season ticket.”
